Beneath it all - at the end of ourselves and at the bottom of our search for love
...there is a homecoming to a deep undisturbed knowing that Jesus Christ is the lamb that was slain from the foundation of the world, that this world and our lives are built on the sacrificial love of God.
The word love in greek is agape it means another centred love -
when we are met by that love we finally surrender to the truth that love is not a concept, love is who God is ... & God is who he says he is
and it is him who has been recklessly pursuing us our entire lives - as we strived to earn & show what we considered love to be in our understanding - God was breathing down our neck waiting for us to become humbled enough by the futility of self reliance.
Meeting love & returning to God in the person of Jesus is a deep & profound REMEMBRANCE of loves truth -
that beneath it all, the blood of loves eternal sacrifice cries out
GOD LOVED US FIRST.
Before the light of the first day, before you were knit together in the depths, before you were a stirring in your mothers womb...God poured himself out for you to know love, be loved & hopefully, eventually bring that love to a humanity that had forgotten love.
To the lamb that was slain at the foundation of the world ... we give you all the glory, all the power & all the honour as we REMEMBER together the name our souls never forgot.
